Analysis of conditions for regional development

The analysis of the conditions for regional development was carried out from September 2006 to June 2007. It is the first comprehensive analysis of this kind for the area of the Pan-European Transport Corridor III and consists of the following elements:

• Initial analysis for the entire corridor area, based mainly on statistical data
• Regional analyses for partial areas
• Analyses of border areas (cross-border studies)

Development scenarios in border areas

The process of elaboration of development scenarios started immediately after the analysis phase. From April 2007 to October 2007, scenarios and options for future development were discussed and evaluated. Also, key projects and measures were derived, suitable for supporting the realisation of the strategy.

Unfortunately, delays of the project part financed from TACIS funds made it impossible to consider the Ukrainian part of the project area in time. Hence, the analysis of this part of the project area and the elaboration of scenarios will have to be done separately.
